Natural Dye Shade Charts

These charts are primarily to show the vast range of beautiful shades possible with the ten dye colours. The individual charts below are scanned and not the best representation of the actual shades. The colours are actually more intense and stunning, as hopefully seen in the first photo of all the charts. But even then, colours may show up differently on your monitor. So please, do not use these charts to try to replicate an exact shade. Even with charts in hand, this is difficult to do. When you use natural dyes, you will likely come up with something uniquely yours.

The samples below are mostly prepared with our Herbal Mordant. Alum will give brighter shades - you can compare this difference with the Blood Red and Turkey Red below which have Alum-mordanted charts as well. Even more colours can be achieved by using different mordants and fibers. These samples are with wool.
